It was almost inevitable that our first foray interstate would be to Sydney. The beautiful beaches, the delightful weather… sure. But the real reason is that Sydney is where deep tech founders, world-class research, and serious capital density collide — and biotech companies thrive in that kind of proximity. Sydney consistently ranks among the world’s leading startup ecosystems, and NSW has attracted the majority share of Australia’s startup funding in recent years.
And then there’s Eveleigh (basically the cheat code). We’re right in the heart of Tech Central, Australia’s biggest emerging innovation district, and down the road from deep tech powerhouse Cicada Innovations. Cicada Innovations
A stone’s throw (or two) away, we have local legends and inspiration for setting up CoLabs in Vic, Cicada Innovations.
They are the OGs of Aussie deep tech – backing world-class science-led founders from lab bench to real-world impact.
We’re massive fan girls, and honestly, so stoked to have them just around the corner, helping build the future in our own backyard.
