As a social enterprise and aspiring regenerative enterprise, we strive to do well by doing good, giving more than we take, and optimising our business for return on impact, rather than maximising for financial return on investment. As a result, we offer a set amount of space to impact-oriented initiatives, charities, NGOs and student groups that we feel are trying to make a difference in the world.
Yarra Riverkeeper Association
We’re helping the Yarra Riverkeeper create a biomimetic filtration device, based on the design of the Manta Ray, to remove microplastics from the Birrarung (Yarra River). We are providing complimentary lab space to test the device, as well as innovation consultation support to help turn this important initiative into reality.

MBSI
The Melbourne Bioinnovation Student Initiative is a group of undergraduate, postgraduate and medical students with backgrounds across science, engineering and medicine. We’ve been supporting work and research out of our lab and coworking space, we’ve also helped them film videos and pitch concepts to VCs.

Coat’d
We’re providing lab space and support to help validate the tech behind Coat’d, an antimicrobial surface coating that can be used to stop the spread of antimicrobial resistance in hospitals, aged care or any other high-touch environment.

Aegis Official
We’re providing lab space and consultation services for Aegis Official, winners of the Premier Design Awards, who are working on a next-gen biomaterials project looking to use Cumbungi, a native Australian aquatic weed, that has antimicrobial properties, to create non-woven fibres to replace single-use plastic PPE.
